Tour Description:
The 3-Lakes Tour starts at the main square in Tramin and is a leisurely route that combines nature, vineyards, and impressive lake scenery. Via Hans-Feur-Straße and Kalterer-See-Straße, you’ll reach the Adige Valley Cycle Path towards Lake Kaltern. Even here, you’ll be treated to magnificent views of the lake’s shoreline – perfect for a quick photo stop or a short break.
The route continues to the eastern shore of Lake Kaltern and then on to Klughammer. A short stop here is worthwhile to enjoy the tranquility of the lake and soak in your first impressions of the region.
The route winds its way through vineyards and forests up to Montiggl. This charming village is the starting point for exploring the Montiggl Lakes. First, you’ll reach the Great Montiggl Lake, and shortly after, the Small Montiggl Lake – both offer idyllic spots to rest and enjoy refreshments.
The route continues to the eastern shore of Lake Kaltern and then on to Klughammer. On the return journey, the route leads through the Montiggler Forest to the Rungg sports complex and on to Eppan. Those who wish can plan a detour to the village center of Eppan before continuing to the start of the Mendel Pass road. After three hairpin bends, the route turns towards Oberplanitzing, and from there on to Kaltern (Mitterdorf and St. Anton). Following the Mendelbahn funicular railway, you finally reach the Kaltern sports complex. Via the Altenburger Straße, you arrive in Altenburg, where a short stop at the viewing platform offers a fantastic view of Lake Kaltern.
From here, the route descends to Söll and back to Tramin – relaxed, leisurely, and full of beautiful panoramic moments.
