Hiking

Different views and insights

Hiking establishes a bond, it relaxes and frees your senses. Hike past protected buildings, through narrow alleys, into the vineyards and on to the forest. On your own, in two or with a group. Just take one step after the other. Each step opens up a new perspective, behind each turn there is a new highlight. The dense larch scrub goes over into a mixed forest before a completely new world awaits your eyes.

A mountain world. The summit of Roen Mountain is actually not that high. Yet, Tramin’s local mountain provides a classic viewpoint. An easy hike with a view of all the famous summits in the region: Ortler, Brenta, Marmolata, Rosengarten and the Unesco World Natural Heritage, the Dolomites.

A hiking paradise. Not only when it comes to conquering the surrounding summits. High-alpine paths and walking trails await you. Admire the interplay of light and shadow in the forests, the cool air, hike over soft alpine pastures, discover hidden nature and cultural treasures. And choose the hiking trails in Tramin that seem the most beautiful to you.

Hiking and more

Thanks to the advantageous position in the south of South Tyrol both hikers and mountaineers will find plenty of interest. The Mendel mountains and nearby Dolomites invite you to mountain tours of all levels of difficulty.

Tramin – Lake Kaltern

Hiking paradise for walkers, hikers and climbers

Walks between
wine and culture

The selection of comfortable hiking and walking trails for the whole family in Tramin and surroundings is amazing. Some trails are even suitable for prams. After a short hike on a forest path for example you’ll directly reach Lake Kaltern, walk on the Cholera Path through orchards, and experience some culture from Tramin with the St. Jakob Chapel and the Kastelaz hiking path. On the 6 km long Nature Experience Trail in Tramin, old and young can look forward to special and educational moments.

Hikes and mountain tours
with summit experience

Between Lake Kaltern and the Roen summit there are two breath-taking and varied mountain tours to choose from. Both tours fascinate with impressive views. Schönleiten, Lawinen Spitz and Schwarzkopf are only some of the mountain summits of the Mendel mountain range, which can be hiked and even climbed. Well looked after hiking trails like the high-altitude trails of Tramin and Lake Kaltern and paths like the Göller, Tauris or Parzoll path lead to unmistakable summits.
