Tour description:
This varied mountain bike tour starts in the center of Tramin and initially leads along quiet paths towards Neumarkt and Montan. From there, the steady climb begins along the old route of the former Fiemme Valley Railway.
The route winds gently uphill, passing through several illuminated tunnels and is ideal for maintaining a steady cadence. Without any steep climbs, you eventually reach Truden, where the trail continues via a short ramp to the Cisloner hut. After that, it descends back down to Truden, and the final section climbs again towards the Kanzel, a popular viewpoint at around 970 m above sea level.
Once at the top, you have a sweeping view over the Etsch Valley, Tramin, the surrounding villages, and on clear days, even as far as Bolzano. The descent is varied and offers a scenic route through Mazon, past vineyards and meadows, before a leisurely return to Tramin on forest paths.
Recommended equipment:
A well-maintained mountain bike (a hardtail will do). Working bike lights are recommended for tunnels. Wearing a helmet is mandatory. Sunscreen and plenty of water are strongly recommended. Cycling gloves and, if necessary, a windbreaker for the descent are also useful
