Dominik Mahlknecht – Movement with reason, feeling and a sense for people

“I’m not asking how many push-ups you can do, but whether you stick with it.”

Listening instead of counting

Anyone strolling through Tramin on an early evening might see them training among the vines or in small spaces – with a mat, dumbbells, or simply using their own body weight. Right in the middle of it all: Dominik Mahlknecht. The personal trainer from Tramin accompanies people in their movements – but not with a whistle and a stopwatch.

I don’t want to shape anyone. I want people to regain confidence in their bodies – and realize what’s good for them.” It’s calm sentences like this that show what he’s all about: not perfect performance, but harmonious processes.

Indoors, outdoors, individually

For six years, Dominik has been offering regular fitness and personal training sessions – both in the studio and outdoors. His sessions are functional, structured, and suitable for everyday use. Sometimes he trains with groups in the vineyards, sometimes he leads individual training sessions in a protected environment. He enjoys using the natural scenery – but not exclusively. “It’s not about the where. It’s about the how.”

The people who come to him are as diverse as their goals: working professionals with little time, young mothers, older people, vacationers. Some want to build strength, others simply want to become more flexible. Dominik listens before making a plan.

I start by asking: Where are you? And what do you think you’re capable of?

“That’s success for me.”

A special area of his offering is EMS training – a joint-friendly, highly effective full-body workout with electrical impulses. During the exercises, specific muscle groups are activated using special electrodes. The sessions are short – around 20 minutes – but intense. Ideal for people with a tight time frame or for specific complaints.

He tells of a client who had been struggling with back pain for years. After a few sessions, she approached him: “She said she was sleeping better. And when I got up, I didn’t feel any pain anymore. That’s success for me.”

For Dominik, that’s precisely the core of his work: small steps, real changes. “I’m not interested in high performance. I’m interested in helping someone feel good again – in their body and in their everyday life.”

Movement that lasts

Training takes place in the morning, in the evening, and during lunch breaks – flexibly, depending on your daily routine. Some book a fixed hour per week, others sign up spontaneously. The most important thing: sticking with it. And that’s exactly what Dominik supports – calm, attentive, and present.

“I work with people, not systems,” he says. “If someone needs a break once in a while, that’s fine. The important thing is that things continue.” He’s not a driver, but an enabler.

From Tramin – for Tramin

Dominik grew up in Tramin. He has known many of his clients for years, while others meet him through recommendations or on vacation. This proximity makes things easier – and more personal.

“I’m happy when someone says after training: I feel more stable. Or: I can go hiking again. Then I know why I’m doing it.”

For him, exercise isn’t an end in itself, but part of a healthy, active life – for every age. And above all: for everyone in their own way. Without pressure, but with consistency. Without comparison, but with trust.

Just get started

Anyone who trains with Dominik quickly realizes: It’s not about speed. It’s about sustainability. And about feeling good. “Exercise isn’t a chore. It can be freedom.
