Tips for Your Hiking Tour

How do I pack my backpack sustainably?

Less is more. That also applies to backpacks. So only pack what is necessary, but make sure to pack it properly.
Regional provisions as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables from the area are ideal for boosting energy on the go. Using these foods supports local cycles, and the short transport routes save CO2, thereby protecting the environment.
A reusable hiking box serves not only as a container for snacks, but also for any waste generated. Because what I take up the mountain, I bring back down to the valley and dispose of properly there.
Staying hydrated is also important on a hike. Every newly purchased disposable bottle means waste. Refillable water bottles can be topped up with fresh water at drinking water fountains.
For human needs, toilet paper should be packed as emergency paper. Paper tissues take 5 years, while toilet paper only 2-4 weeks, to decompose in nature.

So remember this:

  • “What I take up the mountain, I also bring back home and dispose of properly.”
  • Stay on the marked hiking trails and bike routes. Avoid littering and do not leave any behind.
  • Don’t carry unnecessary baggage. In our managed huts and alpine pastures, you can get everything you need.
