Nathalie Bellutti – organic pioneer

A place where history meets passion

In the heart of “Betlehem,” one of the oldest districts of Tramin, lies a rustic property with medieval charm. Stone-framed window reveals, bifora, and round-arched gates characterize the facade of the Ansitz Rynnhof. Elegant palm trees, pale green olive trees, and a small fountain frame the nostalgic, fairytale-like scene. An old wooden gate opens to the right, revealing an old 15th-century work cellar with petrified walls and a dark wooden vault, which has been converted into a farm shop.

Behind the counter in the cellar stands Nathalie Bellutti, the Rynnhof’s winemaker. With a friendly voice and shining eyes, she is currently telling two guests about the farm’s history and the wine that, for her, is inextricably linked to this landscape: Gewürztraminer.

Nathalie Bellutti

The queen of grape varieties

When Nathalie speaks about Gewürztraminer, she does so with palpable respect. For her, it’s the queen of grape varieties.

“For me, Gewürztraminer is a wine for celebration. A very special wine for special occasions. You should always savor a glass of it consciously and take the time to discover its richness and complexity.”

Nathalie describes the golden-yellow wine as loud in its aromas—impressive, rich, and versatile. This is precisely why, she says, it’s made for moments that are meant to be remembered, just like the wine itself. What makes the Gewürztraminer from Rynnhof so special is its balance: intense aromas of tropical fruits, roses, and nutmeg—yet it remains consistently elegant, never too heavy, never overpowering.

The barren limestone soils, the cool climate of the higher elevations, and the consistent avoidance of chemicals give the wine freshness, finesse, and an unmistakable character. This clear signature runs through all of Rynnhof’s wines: straightforward, varietal, unfussy, and, in the words of the winemaker: “Above all, wines that are a joy to drink, and that you’ll gladly enjoy for a second or third glass.”

Sustainability out of conviction

Nathalie and her husband Georg have been running Rynnhof together since 2021. They cultivate approximately 3 hectares of vineyards using consistently organic methods. Quality, sustainability, and meticulous craftsmanship are their focus. In their historic, self-constructed winery, they create distinctive wines that live by the philosophy “less is more”: each grape variety is designed to develop its own potential with minimal intervention.

For Nathalie, who holds master’s degrees in phytomedicine and applied plant science, a passion for nature and agriculture has always been there. “When you work with and in nature, you bear responsibility – for the soil, the water, biodiversity, and also for yourself and future generations.” Nathalie Bellutti firmly believes in this.

Any path other than organic was never an option for them. Tramin offers the ideal conditions for this. For Nathalie and Georg, it is not only home, but also an ideal location for organic viticulture. The barren soils, the alpine climate, and the centuries-old winemaking tradition shape the wines and make it possible to work in a natural and sustainable way—without compromising on quality and character. The wines are closely connected to this place, with a deliberate focus on traditional, regional grape varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Vernatsch, Lagrein, and, of course, Gewürztraminer.

What makes the Rynnhof wines special is not only their uniqueness as the only organically certified wines in Tramin, but also their expressiveness. They all embody Nathalie’s values: authentic, full of character, and unmistakably connected to Tramin.

Nathalie Bellutti – a winemaker who not only produces wine at the Private Winery Ansitz Rynnhof, but also brings her home region of Tramin into every glass with passion and respect.
