History, culture and wine on a walk through Tramin
Discover the historic wine-producing village of Tramin on a guided tour with certified tour guide, sommelier, and South Tyrolean gourmet ambassador Jürgen Geier, and immerse yourself in a world full of history, tradition, and enjoyment. Together you’ll stroll through the winding alleys and past charming courtyards that tell stories of centuries past.
In a relaxed atmosphere, you will learn exciting anecdotes and interesting background information about the life of the people of Tramin – from the origins of the world-famous Gewürztraminer and the artistic architecture of historic buildings to the lively customs and cultural peculiarities that characterize Tramin to this day.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to a historic wine cellar, where the spirit of the winemaking tradition is still palpable. We will also visit two of the town’s most important religious buildings: the Parish Church of St. Julitta and St. Quiricus, Tramin’s landmark, and the picturesque St. Jakob Church in Kastelaz, with its ornate frescoes.
Every Wednesday, March to October, 4.30 p.m.
The tour is only available in German

Ancient alleys, secret gardens, churches with precious frescoes…but also inviting nature, in harmony with human creation, which can be discovered along the many themed and panoramic trails…and above all, the scent of the exquisite Gewürztraminer, which is native to this area: welcome to Tramin on the Wine Route!
