Tramin – Söll – Altenburg – Tramin

The starting point is the Town Hall Square in Tramin. From here, the route leads along Hans-Feur-Straße to the festival grounds and then towards Söll. At the bend after Hotel Winzerhof, trail no. 11 branches off, winding through a mixed forest up to Gasthof Plattenhof in Söll (closed on Mondays). From there, continue on the paved road to the fire station, where you turn right. The signs reading “Private road” and “Beware of dog” can be ignored. The route then follows trail no. 11 again, an old Roman road that leads to the Panorama Trail (waymark 3) towards Altenburg.

Once in Altenburg, the path turns right and leads to the beautiful viewpoint by the church – a rewarding spot for a short break with panoramic views. From there, the route continues about 1 km south along the paved road towards Söll. At the junction, take the forest track Zogglerhof (waymark 4B) and follow the paved road further on to Gasthof Gummererhof (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). The descent back to Tramin follows trail no. 10 or the signposted route to the village.
