What can I expect during the Spring Hiking Week in May?

Look forward to five unforgettable hiking days filled with impressive landscapes, scenic panoramic trails and unique nature experiences. The Spring Hiking Week in May combines Mediterranean flair, alpine views and varied routes around South Tyrol and Lake Garda.

The week begins with the circular trail of the mountain farms above Burgstall, leading through an impressive cultural landscape overlooking the Adige Valley. Between traditional farms, sunny slopes and orchards, you will experience the tranquillity of nature and enjoy beautiful views across the valley time and again. Mediterranean impressions await you during the Lake Garda hike from Torbole via Busatte to Tempesta. Spectacular panoramic views of Lake Garda, narrow trails along the cliffs and sunny stretches make this tour a truly special experience between water and mountains.

One of the highlights of the hiking week is the Traminer Höhenweg panoramic trail. Above Tramin, this scenic route winds through varied forests and meadows, constantly revealing breathtaking views over the South Tyrolean lowlands and Lake Kaltern. Equally adventurous and fascinating is the hike through the Rio Sass Canyon in Fondo. Along walkways and narrow passages, you will discover a spectacular gorge landscape shaped by water, rock formations and impressive plays of light.

The atmospheric finale is the circular hike from Mazzon to the Kanzel viewpoint. Through vineyards, light forests and peaceful nature trails, you will reach one of the most beautiful panoramic spots above the Adige Valley. Here, nature, tranquillity and magnificent views combine to create a truly memorable hiking experience.

After the shared hikes, a cosy aperitif invites everyone to enjoy a convivial end to the day and exchange the week’s most beautiful impressions together.

Circular Trail of the Mountain Farms of Burgstall

9 am. Meeting point at the Tourist Office Tramin. This circular hike through the mountain farms of Burgstall leads across a fascinating cultural landscape above the Adige Valley. The route connects several traditional farms that have shaped the scenery for generations and passes through mixed forests, orchards and sunny slopes. Along the way, wide panoramic views of the valley repeatedly open up.

Walking time: 3.0 hours – Distance: 8.5 km – Elevation gain: 420 m

Tuesday, 11 May 2027
Lake Garda Hike: Torbole – Busatte – Tempesta – Torbole

8.30 am. Meeting point at the Tourist Office Tramin. The tour starts in the charming village of Torbole on Lake Garda and first follows the famous Busatte cliffs. Narrow paths with spectacular panoramic views over the lake alternate with sections through woodland and across sunlit rocky terrain. After a short ascent, you reach Tempesta, where impressive viewpoints open up over the valley and the lake. On the way back to Torbole, you can once again enjoy the unique combination of nature and Lake Garda scenery.

Tramin Panorama Trail (Traminer Höhenweg)

9 am. Meeting point at the Tourist Office Tramin. The Tramin Panorama Trail is one of the most beautiful scenic routes around Tramin. The hike runs above the village through varied landscapes of forests and meadows, offering impressive views over the South Tyrolean lowlands and Lake Kaltern. An ideal route to fully experience nature, wide-open views and the unique setting of Tramin.

Walking time: 4.0 hours – Distance: 11.0 km – Elevation gain: 550 m

Thursday, 13 May 2027
Fondo – Rio Sass Canyon

8.30 am. Meeting point at the Tourist Office Tramin. This extraordinary hike leads into the impressive Rio Sass canyon in Fondo. Following walkways, stairs and narrow passages, you trace the course of the stream through a dramatic and partly narrow rocky gorge. The interplay of water, rock and light makes this tour a unique nature experience with a touch of adventure.

Friday, 14 May 2027
Circular Hike Mazzon – Kanzel

9 am. Meeting point at the Tourist Office Tramin.
A scenic route above Neumarkt. This circular hike leads through vineyards, meadows and light forests to the well-known Kanzel, a stunning viewpoint overlooking the Adige Valley. Along easy-to-walk paths, you can enjoy the peace of nature, with beautiful views and opportunities to stop for refreshments along the way.

Walking time: 4.0 hours – Distance: 10.0 km – Elevation gain: 700 m

From 5 pm, all participants are invited to an aperitif.

Certified hiking guide, transfers, farewell aperitif, participation certificate and a small surprise are included in the price.
