The Kalterer See Triathlon is one of the most popular sporting events in South Tyrol, attracting ambitious athletes and enthusiastic spectators every year to the stunning natural setting around Lake Kaltern. On May 9, 2026, the 37th international edition of this long-standing competition will take place, once again promising an unforgettable experience of sport, nature and emotion.
The Olympic-distance triathlon includes 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running – a varied challenge set against the impressive backdrop of South Tyrol’s vineyard landscape. The race starts at the LIDO at Lake Kaltern, before continuing through the South Tyrolean lowlands and the surrounding vineyards.
The competition is open to both Age Group athletes and Elite competitors, offering attractive prize money and awards for the top finishers in each category. In addition, all participants are automatically entered into a draw to win a training camp on a Spanish island, including accommodation and coaching.
Already on the day before, a varied supporting programme creates a special atmosphere: the charity pedal boat race, held in support of the Kinderherz South Tyrol association, makes the event more than just a competition.

Participation in the Kalterer See Triathlon is open to everyone holding a valid racing license. Registration is only possible by submitting the completed registration form and paying the entry fee.
The Kalterer See Triathlon combines top-level sport with a Mediterranean atmosphere. Nestled between vineyards and mountains, the area around Tramin offers ideal conditions for training, competition and relaxation.
