Josefi festival and free shooting

At the shooting range in Tramin

The Josefi Festival and Free Shooting 2026 of the Sportschützengilde Tramin is one of the most traditional shooting events in South Tyrol and a fixed highlight in the annual calendar of South Tyrolean sport shooting.

At the historic shooting range in Tramin, sport shooters from across the region come together to demonstrate their skills, foster camaraderie, and celebrate living traditions.

A Special Anniversary Year

The 2026 edition is dedicated to significant anniversaries:

  • South Tyrol commemorates 80 years of the Paris Agreement (Gruber–De Gasperi Agreement), which forms the foundation of autonomy and the protection of the German- and Ladin-speaking minorities.
  • The free shooting event is also dedicated to the 85th birthday of former Governor and Honorary Provincial Head of Marksmen Dr. Luis Durnwalder, a personality who has shaped the marksmen’s tradition and Tyrolean identity for decades.

Thus, the Josefi Festival and Free Shooting is far more than a sporting competition: it is an expression of tradition, identity, community, and voluntary commitment.

Competitions and Categories

The small-caliber free shooting competition at 120 meters includes numerous categories:

  • Juniors
  • Young shooters
  • Women
  • General class
  • Seniors
  • Veteran shooters
  • Veterans

In addition to the traditional festival target with valuable prizes, participants can compete in series rankings, earn performance badges, and win attractive instant prizes.
