in the village of Tramin
On Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Tramin will once again shine in the colorful splendor of the Children’s Egetmann Parade – one of the oldest and most fascinating carnival traditions in the Alpine region, which in even-numbered years is specially dedicated to the young people of Tramin. This parade is a miniature version of the grand Egetmann Parade and offers a unique insight into the tradition-rich carnival season.
The children take on the roles of adults: trumpeters, heralds, measurers, and pathclearers lead the procession, followed by the ‘Schnappvieher’ and the magnificent wedding carriages of Egetmann-Hansl. Additional colorful floats, including those of the bakery, the blacksmith, and the famous Old Women’s Mill, complete the vibrant spectacle.
A special highlight of this parade is that girls are also allowed to participate, making it even more diverse and lively. In the Egetmann parade for adults, no women are allowed to join. This rule goes back to a long-standing historical tradition.
Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2026
Time: Start at 1:00 PM
Location: Tramin on the South Tyrolean Wine Route

It is a feast for all the senses, delighting both locals and visitors from near and far year after year.
